Market Link has been appointed to operate a newly formed press office from its Worcester offices on behalf of long-standing client, the Westover Group.
Manned by three members of Market Link’s PR team, the press office will offer a ‘one stop’ media resource for local and trade journalists, supplying a wide variety of regional information - from the current best-selling vehicle makes and models, right through to the number of exhaust pipes fitted in an average year. It will also offer locally-based opinions on national motoring trends, arrange road tests and oversee promotional and sponsorship activities.
Market Link has worked with the Westover Group - the South’s leading independent motoring group – for more than two decades. Westover has grown significantly during that time and now operates 21 operations across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, encompassing 13 different manufacturer marques and employing around 500 staff.
Steve Paddock, Market Link director, says: “We officially opened the new press office for business on 1 December, when our dedicated 0800 telephone number, email accounts and ‘on-line press office’ went live. As it’s a new venture, we've created an infrastructure from scratch; amongst other things, we’ve designed a logo and we’ve put procedures in place so that we can track regional trends. We’ve created a very professional media facility, which reflects the Westover Group’s long-standing focus – to deliver the highest possible service levels to each and every customer.
