Recently, whilst we were enthusing over our toy cars in the 70s, 80s, 90s, we came across a little gem of a model Mini.
Now nothing extraordinary about that you may think. Thousands of mini models exist. It’s a classic British car.
But this one was just a little bit different. Made by CORGI for their VanGuards Collectors Range, this 1979 Mini 1275GT had something about it. The rally sponsorship decals sported a certain name. Highly detailed, it replicated the British saloon car championship model driven by Richard Longman.
Now what stood out to us immediately was on of the sponsors - Patrick Motor Group.
Who you say?
Patrick Motors! In the long history of Market Link, Patrick Motors was the predecessor to The Westover Group, the largest motor group in Dorset and a long-standing client of Market Link. So long in fact that it was our own Creative Director, Steve Hynds, that actually created the artwork for the racing Mini. So we were amazed that we had discovered this piece of Market Link history immortalised in 1:43 scale!
So without hesitation we had to buy a limited edition copy of the model, which sits proudly in our offices.
